No matter what the size of the space, the use of wood will always connect us to nature far more readily than any man-made material and remains a popular choice in commercial interiors.
The Asona Slat system sees a distinctive 3 dimensional effect created by the individual slat (members of the Asona Slat) panels. Separate pre-finished timber slats are mounted in a modular panel array which is treated acoustically with our integrated acoustic backing (IAB).
Concealed fixing points are provided allowing the panel to be screw fixed to a conventional furring channel or batten system, and thus when installed, a continuous linear effect is achieved.
In the recently refurbished Metro Centre, on Level 2 -Restaurant Street, Walker Retail Architects have pushed the Asona Slat system further by alternating the 600 x 600 AX-48s modules perpendicular to each other creating an interesting cross-hatch pattern. Walker Retail also ran the panels along and up the bulk head creating an interesting feature in a long narrow space.
The veneered American Oak slats stained with a Red Beech stain and matt lacquered radiate a warmth & richness to the space and is further enhanced with the use of bold red back-lighting and funky pendant lights.
