Ormiston Junior College - Ceilings
Ormiston Junior College is one of NZ's newest PPP (Public-Private Partnership) high schools.
Designed by architects, Andrew Scott Cotton (ASC) the stunning facility meets the needs of teaching and learning for the 21st
century. Asona’s Triton 50™ceiling panel was the obvious choice to use in the flexible learning spaces and laneways because
Asona could customise a solution to maximise the natural light of the buildings whilst providing fire safe, low VOC,
high acoustic performance products with 80% recycled content backed up with a recycle and renew programme
for long term sustainability. Asona’s laminate facings were used to make the point of difference between different
ceilings spaces including a wood-look PU veneer facing, some with a slot perforation over black Sonatex in 1200 x
2400mm sized panels. Other customised panels have a Sonaris™ #RSlot (random slot) perforated facing in white over grey
mirroring the building façade and breaking up the uniformity of the standard white ceiling panels.
